It’s a beautiful sunny day at Sportpark Westvliet. VCC won the toss and elected to bat first. VCC sent two strong openers in the field (Hidde and Carlijn) and they made a quick 21 runs before Bloemendaal/Rood en Wit took the first wicket with a good ball from Atif Lakhasar. Hidde dismissed with a total of 9 runs. Donna comes in at number 3. Carlijn and Donna try to make a good partnership but Carlijn gets out caught by Friso Raalte. Nirav is next in. With a 4 on his first ball he is off to a good start. He builds a good partnership with the other batsmen, Donna. A partnership of 85 until Donna got run out with a total of 19 off 34 balls. Danial comes in and helps Nirav with building a partnership. Nirav keeps making runs and hitting boundary after boundary. His innings comes to an end in the 20th over from a catch on mid-on by Jip Oost. He made a stunning 98 off 48 with a strike rate off 204 and made a partnership off 52 with Danial. Farhaan comes in with a warmed-up Danial. Both ready to score some extra runs. They both succeed as Danial scored a quick 37 off 27 and Farhaan 69* off 41 with 7 sixes. Tom comes in to support Farhaan but doesn’t stand in for too long. He’s dismissed after 2 balls. Alejo comes in in the last over off the first innings and scores 1 before the innings is over. VCC finished with a total of 278 for 6 after 30.

Bloemendaal/Rood en Wit has to chase 278 in 30 overs. Maurits Groeneveld en Sam Collingham open the batting for Bloemendaal/Rood en Wit. Shirsak takes the wicket of Sam Collingham and Jip Oost (who came in at 3) in his first over and the first over of the second innings. Friso Raalte comes in and makes a good partnership of 57 with Maurits Groeneveld before Friso Raalte goes out with a total of 23 off 33 balls caught and bowled by Donna. With a couple of quick wickets, Bloemendaal/Rood en Wit are 76 for 7 with 1 wicket in hand. That wicket doesn’t take long to take for VCC as Nirav comes in to the attack and bowls a beautiful inswinger to dismiss Maurits Groenveld who made a good 25 to help the team get a total of 84 for 8 after 23.1
