Juniors

VCC has some 100 juniors in age from 6-18. The club puts a lot of effort in growing everyone’s talent, because we believe this is vital for the club. Hence we offer a year round program. From May – September we play and practice outdoors, whilst from November till March there are weekly indoor sessions on Sundays, complemented by some indoor tournnaments organised by the Dutch Cricket Association. Highlights in the summer period are the club evenings on Friday where juniors from 4-14 practice (from 4.30-6 pm) and enjoy a drink and a meal with their parents afterwards. Cricket is fun and  international (we have juniors from Germany, Australia, England and of course Holland). Various kids attending the International Schools (like BSN) have been or are part of VCC. It combines well with traditional winter sports like football and hockey. Boys and girls from all ages are warmly invited to join in for a practice session free of any obligations. For more info, see Membership or contact: jeugdcommissie@voorburgcc.nl When you start you don’t need a lot of equipment. The club will provide eveything necessary- gloves, legguards etc. An own ‘box’ (abdomen protector) is recommended when playing with a hard ball (>12 years). The VCC outfit can be obtained via Tim de Leede Sports. “… at VCC  they promote the vision of ‘participate – contribute – have fun – make friends’.  Not only do they talk about that approach, they truly live it.” (Finnimore family, who spent four years in The Hague 2010-2013).

In this promo video you’ll get an impression of our club:

team MvMSeniors (women)

The ladies started again in 2011. In the winter, a team of ladies train monthly (in 2014-2015 led by Dutch XI player Carolien de Fouw), in the summer they train every other week on Thursday evenings. This training is also given by an experienced coach. In 2018, the ladies -with many young girls- became Dutch T20 champion! Girls or women can always train a number of times without any obligation.

team MvM Seniors (men)

VCC wants to be a club for everyone. We play six teams for men (2 on Saturday, 4 on Sunday) from highly competitive to completely recreational. Currently we have some 90 senior members. The selection practices are on invitation, the recreational practice is on Wednesday nights supervised by our overseas coach. Also seniors can always try some practice sessions before deciding to become a member.
