This morning at 07:30 contractors led by Tom de Grooth started the expansion of the grass wicket. Around 09:00 the first shovel went into the ground and now there is no turning back. And, of course, we don’t want that either. In the spring meeting, the project was already explained: the current square will get two match strips on both sides, the artificial will move up a bit, and there will be 8 practice strips next to it.

With this, VCC further strengthens its ambition to be a high-performance center for (inter)national teams, and of course this also offers its own teams the opportunity to play and train on grass more often!
It is expected that most of the work should be finished this week, perhaps with a little overflow into next week.
So don’t hesitate to stop by this week and admire the progress.
As it was, just after the renovation
Job done, now only to put the artificial turf back on the strip of sand still visible.
But the 4 extra competition strips and 8 practice pitches are in: the sand, clay, seed and cloths.
Now it has to go through all seasons once, giving it optimal time to “settle” and then we can play on it starting in 2026.
