In memoriam: Rob Tolk (1941-2023)

News recently reached us that Rob Tolk passed away in August at the age of 82.

Rob had not been an active member of VCC for many years.

He did come regularly to watch the first team’s games.

Rob’s active senior cricket career ran from 1958 to 1970. During that period he scored a total of up to 888 runs in 79 innings and as a bowler he took 26 wickets. High point is undoubtedly the century of 104 not out against Concordia 2 in 1959. That was at a time when scoring 100 runs was very special.

Besides VCC, the Velovo volleyball club and former Tonegido soccer club were also close to his heart. In the photo ((c) Hague Soccer History) above, he is visible in the 1953 – 1954 season, sitting directly to the right next to goalkeeper Vingerling.

The farewell took place in private.
