The openers from Eindhoven immediately started batting at a high pace, which quickly increased the score. Aditya Burya was very handy for Eindhoven he made 62 on the other hand it was Carlijn with nice numbers for VCC (6-4-28). Eindhoven ended on a total of 208 of which 70 were extras, definitely something that can be improved. It was up to VCC to achieve that total. The 1st wicket fell quickly from Aldino whose ball was caught very nicely at mid-off. After that it was the partnership of Alejo and Harsh (U15) that kept VCC in the game. in the 15th over their partnership was broken Harsh had to leave. Farhaan came in and was following the score at a good pace with Alejo at the other end aiming for a 50 but he was bowled out at 43 on a nice ball. From there it didn’t go well for VCC because the first ball afterwards Tom was also bowled out. Farhaan a nice 27 but the run rate started to go up. In the end things seemed to get tense with Danial and Cedric on the crease but the fielding and bowling of Eindhoven was simply very good that day and VCC went all out for 179.
Next week VCC will compete against Punjab in hopes of still having a shot at the playoffs.
