No prolongation of national title for VCC; VRA to finals

Appèl van Noah Croes en Cedric de Lange wordt niet gehonoreerd

Voorburg CC failed to qualify for the national final.
The battered team was hopeless in Amstelveen: 106/9 – 110/2.
The pitch was poorly covered and was soaking wet in several places, despite the bright summer weather.
Therefore, the start was only at 3 p.m. and only 33 overs were played.
Logically, VRA went bowling after winning the toss.
After all, the pitch would be tricky.
VCC did not fare well on the wet strip.
106 runs only got the Voorburgers into the books, with the number eight, Laurens Boissevain, as the top scorer and a ‘carefree’ 12 not out off ten balls by Alejo Nota, including the only six of the innings.
Former VCC player Shariz Ahmad took four wickets for the home team.
VCC did its best to sell its skin dearly by fieldering well, but it came as no surprise that VRA had no trouble surpassing the poor Voorburg score.
VCC took only two wickets before VRA hit the winning runs.
On the now-dried pitch, Vikram Singh laid down a match-winning 58 not out.
After 26 overs, the second finalist – besides already seeded Punjab – was known.
Next weekend in Rotterdam Punjab-Ghausia vs VRA will be played for the national title.  HCC women’s T20 champion after win over Quick in Super Over The women’s T20 final was – rather surprisingly – won by newcomer HCC.
After making 109/6 and with seven Quick wickets down, HCC was allowed to hold out hope.
Quick saw opportunity to make only three runs from the final over instead of the required four.
The Super Over – and with it the championship – became a prey for HCC thanks to a six on the first ball by Iris Zwilling.
