11 July – The Dutch men’s cricket team has successfully secured its spot in the 2026 T20 World Cup. This qualification was achieved on the final day of the World Cup qualification tournament.
To qualify, the Netherlands needed to defeat Italy, a task they accomplished decisively.
Italy ensured Italy’s debut in the 2026 T20 World Cup alongside the Netherlands.
9 July – After the loss against Scotland and the win vs Guernsey, the T20 match between The Netherlands and Italy on Friday will be the match that decides if the Dutch team progresses to the 2026 World T20 in India and Sri Lanka.
Of course, progressing would not only be a fantastic opportunity for the players and staff and a unique opportunity for fans to watch as well, but it is also very important for Dutch cricket and its growth and exposure.
So, call upon your sport fanatic friends, neighbors, family members to get out their orange t-shirt, jersey, pants, hat or whatever and come to Sportpark Westvliet on Friday at 4 pm to support the Dutch Men’s team and cheer them on to success against Italy!
Voorburg Cricket Club (VCC) is proud to host the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier from 5 to 11 July 2025 at Sportpark Westvliet, Groene Zoom 20, 2491 EH Den Haag / Voorburg.
This exciting international tournament is the official qualifying event for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup and brings together top national teams from across Europe: including the Netherlands, Scotland, Italy, Jersey, and Guernsey. Each match day are two matches, at 11h and 16h CEST.
