During the season, the KNCB regularly asked players, coaches, umpires and representatives of visiting countries to assess the facilities of the various grass wicket clubs. This happened during ProSeries, Top- & Hoofdklasse matches and during practices and matches of the Dutch National Team. The assessment was always based on six criteria:
- Training facilities
- Match facilities
- Outfield
- Club facilities (locker rooms, clubhouse)
- Indoor facilities
- Hospitality
It is wonderful to see VCC rated with an average rating. A tribute to Tom de Grooth and the grass wicket team (Jaap, Lex, Marc) for the quality of the grass wickets, but also for the people involved with the accommodation (Victor, Kees, Frans, Karel, Sander, the people from the municipality: Alderman Van Eekelen, Donny van der Dussen, Fred van der Kraats and team), with the ins and outs of the clubhouse (Julia, Indie Ruchi) and actually to everyone who is proud of our beautiful accommodation, does their best for it and propagates it. Because that certainly adds to the hospitality. A huge incentive to keep that up and even improve. With 4 new competition pitches and 12 practice strips, that will be a nice challenge.
