VCC4 vs. Eindhoven

After a comfortable win against Punjab, VCC4 hosted a strong Eindhoven team on field 2. With overnight rain and extremely windy conditions, it was a great toss to win. VCC4 won the toss and had no hesitation in putting the opponents to bat in overcast and windy conditions. The new ball pair of Naman and Jamie bowled with great control despite the difficulty in controlling the swing. After a good opening burst it was time for the spin twins Amit Singh and Vishal to put on the choke. Their immaculate line and length continued to frustrate the Eindhoven team. VCC4’s ground fielding and catching were right on the money with Nirmal patrolling the sweeper position and the safe hands of Naman and William taking the catches with ease. The Eindhoven team was not allowed to get away, however they still posted a decent total of 203/7.
Chasing the number of 204 to win, it was the “Big Willy” show with the bat. The opening pair of Sumit and William gave a flying start and put on 87 runs for the first wicket in literally not time. The opening burst put the team in a commanding position. After the fall of Sumit’s wicket, Naman and William continued the good work by building on the platform set by the opening pair. William was in complete control and hit a brilliant half century. After William’s departure Naman and Nirmal got the team close and eventually Naman finished off the game with a six. All in all it was a good day of cricket and VCC4 continued the winning momentum.
