Preview national championship final U15: VCC – VOC

This Sunday at 11 a.m. the final for the national championship for the U15 teams between VCC and VOC will take place at Westvliet sports park. Both teams have shown themselves to be very evenly matched over the years and it promises to be a great battle between the two.

In the group stage of the competition, which only started on July 1 due to the Corona measures, VOC ended on mutual result – but with an equal number of points – just above VCC. Where VCC did not drop any points until the last match, VOC lost versus Punjab. That 2 point deficit was made up in the last game before the summer holidays, when VOC showed itself slightly better in the battle for the first place. Batting first, VCC made 159 (Shirsak 51), but VOC managed to surpass this total five balls before the end, including a 63 retired not out from Roman Harhangi, who has already made his appearance in the first squad of the club from Rotterdam.

That may be the difference between the two teams. VOC already has more mature players, while VCC is still a bit younger, but with 7 Dutch Lions and a Lioness, it has the necessary talent. It will probably again be the form of the day that will decide who can call himself the new Dutch champion at the end. The game over 2x 30 overs will be played on the main pitch and will start at 11am. For this occasion, the KNCB has appointed official KNCB umpires.
