Kampong v VCC After a stressful week for vcc selection, VCC 1 fielded an under strength team with only 10 against Kampong. VCC lost the toss and had to field first. A fantastic opening spell from young Adriaan and Rafi saw Kampong 18 for 4 after 10 overs. Ed Price, E Bartlett bowled economically, whilst Phil collected 3 wickets at the other end. Kampong all out for 115. Aad finished with 3 for 21 of 10, Rafi 4 for 29 of 10 and Phil 3 for 17 of 6. VCC lost wickets continuously in the chase, but ended up getting the target 6 wickets down. josh lenssen 35 and Rafi 32 not out being the top scorers. A big thanks to Koen Hoppener who filled in for us and did a great job in the field. Play-off 1: VCC v Rood en Wit Flo Kingma (23) got VCC of to a strong start after being put into bat on which looked to be a good pitch for the bowlers. Bas De Leede (7) then came to the wicket and put a partnership of 45 with Josh. Bas unfortunately fell the final ball before leaving the field for rain. After a long break, VCC had to bat only 37 overs, so the run rate picked up thanks to a quick 34 from Ethan Bartlett, and Josh Lenssen batted through the innings to make 61 not out. Once again it rained, at it looked like the match would be replayed. But it cleared up and R and W needed 153 of 27 overs. They never looked like getting there after fantastic spells from Aad and Rafi, both taking 2 wickets and going for not too many runs. Bas De Leede then came on and was on a hat trick. R and W were 36 for 7, and VCC rushed through the overs to make sure they got to the 20th over so the game was now a game. R & W ended 91 for 9 of there 27 overs so a convincing win. A win next week against Bloemendaal at home would see the final game against HBS as a final for the championship.
Twee keer winst VCC 1 (v Kampong en R&W)
