VCC U12 (2) continue their good form v R&W

VCC U12 played Rood & Wit away. We had a good start as there was great coffee on offer for parents! Unfortunately it was rainy and the ground was wet. We fielded first; slippery rock made it difficult. R&W made 104 for the loss of 4 wickets, the wicket takers being Aryan, Varun, James and  Just. The VCC batting was solid as a rock. Just (4) mastered the leg glance and partner Varun (15) raced us to 45 off 8 and both retired n.o. Aarav (6) played a beautiful cover drive and was then undone by a great pill which cartwheeled leg stump. Jamie (16) and Aryan (11) blasted boundaries, both retiring n.o. with the job nearly done. Unfortunately James ran himself out, but a great pull shot from Sid (nearly six) sealed the win with only one wicket down. VCC U12 (2) continue their good form, still unbeaten! ‘Broodjes, wafels en meloen’ all round… Coach Mark
