Vivian Kingma invited for the ICC European Centre of Excellence 2010

ICC development ProgramVivian Kingma has received an invitation form ICC Europe to participate in the ICC European Centre of Excellence 2010 that will be held from 6-12 April at the La Manga Club, Murcia in Spain. Of course VCC is very proud that one of its members has received such honourful invitation!

The camp will be held at the world-class leisure resort located in Murcia, South-Eastern Spain on the Costa Calida. The club´s cricket centre includes two pitches with artificial wickets and a four-bay artificial net facility. The object of ICC Europe is “to identify and select a crop of the most talented young cricketers in Europe at this age group and provide them with an opportunity to develop their talents through excellent coaching and support services in order for them to achieve their potential’.
24 Players from 13 countries will participate. Each of the players selected are of a high standard, play regular club cricket and have played age group National Team cricket for their respective Country. Players could be nominated from all ICC Europe Member Countries. Apart from Vivian, also Wessel Coster from HBS has been invited from The Netherlands.
Running alongside the youth programme will be a course for nominated adult coaches accompanying the chosen youth cricketers. Each country has nominated one coach, who is active within the country and has coached on behalf of the nominating association. The nominated individual´s are a minimum ECB Level 2 / UKCC 2 coach or hold an equivalent award. The course will provide them with a great opportunity to work alongside some very experienced coaches and gain some valuable advice and information to help them on their return to their country.
